Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of Doreen, who at the age of 84, passed away after a fall in the home. Doreen was the loving spouse of Robert for 60 years and the devoted mother to Lois (Brian), Carmen (Kim) and Christopher who had predeceased her. She was the loving Grandmother to Tyler, Brooke, Riley and Julia and nothing made her happier than seeing those faces and getting those phone calls and pictures! Doreen was also a special loving Aunt to her niece Ellen. Doreen was predeceased by her siblings, Adelaide, Norman, Frank, Ruby and Enid and will be deeply missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, neighbors and her sorority sisters. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Ottawa Civic Hospital who gave Doreen such great care as well as the Ottawa Paramedic Service. Doreen was a teacher after high school and became a full-time mother when her children came along. In 1980 she decided to rejoin the work force as a real estate agent, which became a career that she loved as she loved connecting with people and hearing their stories. Anyone that knew Doreen knows that she was an avid sewer and quilter and she spent many hours creating a custom quilt for each of the grandchildren. Doreen loved to garden and to spend her time volunteering at the Senior Center.
